On 17.12.2018 the kick-off meeting of the project "MiVaKa - Mimetics for the prevention and therapy of vascular calcification to minimise cardiovascular diseases" took place. With the start of the project, the first cornerstones were laid for the development of a novel clinical preparation against both dialysis and age-related vascular calcification.
Over the next three years, the Institute for Molecular Cardiovascular Research at Aachen University Hospital and its regional industrial partners Taros Chemicals GmbH & Co. KG from the chemical industry and Lead Discovery Center GmbH from the pharmaceutical industry will develop a peptide mimetic for both oral and intravenous application of the new drug.
All partners involved are looking forward to a successful cooperation.
This project is funded by the European Union within the framework of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
