On Friday, October 13, 2023, the guests at the Apollo experienced a unique night when professors from Aachen's RWTH university took over the DJ booth. Among them was Prof. Dr. med. Angelika Lampert from the Institute of Neurophysiology, who performed under the alias DJ 1.7. With her groovy beats and stirring melodies, the expert for the voltage-gated sodium channel Nav1.7 ensured that no one could stand still.
The idea behind this extraordinary event was to bring students and teachers together in a completely new way. It was a great opportunity to get to know the people we normally meet in lecture halls and seminar rooms in a relaxed and informal environment.
But that was not all. All proceeds from this event will be donated to the “Studieren Ohne Grenzen” organization. This non-profit initiative is committed to supporting educational opportunities in crisis regions and providing scholarships for students in need.
