Decision of the DFG to fund a new priority program “Exit strategies of intracellular pathogens”

The senate of the DFG has announced in a press release from April 1st 2019 the establishment of 14 new priority programs. Of these, two focus on Life Science topics and one has been initiated by Prof. Pradel, member of the Life Science Faculty of the RWTH Aachen and supported by members of the institute of Medical Microbiology, University Clinic, RWTH Aachen. The Senate selected from 50 applications and will support the 14 new priority programs with 85 Mill. Euro in the coming three years. The accepted priority program “Exit strategies of intracellular pathogens” will deal with the molecular mechanisms of the cell egress by bacterial, parasitic and fungal pathogens.
