Teaching
The Chair of Restorative Dentistry is responsible for dental training in the field of restorative dentistry, consisting of the following areas:
- Cariology
- Restorative dentistry
- Endodontology and dental traumatology
- periodontology
- and covers a large proportion of the content of the cross-sectional subjects of microbiology and immunology, preventive dentistry, pediatric dentistry, laser dentistry and geriatric dentistry.

In the phantom course in dental conservation in the so-called AIXTRA dental, students in the first clinical semester practise their practical skills in the various sub-areas in simulation units. In addition, the introduction to clinical patient treatment takes place with the help of mutual practical exercises in prophylaxis, diagnostics and ergonomics in the rooms of the Clinic for ZPP.
Parallel to the phantom course in tooth preservation, the following lecture series take place as part of the main lectures “Dentistry I and II”:
- Cariology I - non- and micro-invasive therapy
- Cariology II - invasive therapy
- Endodontology
- Periodontology
In the last two years of study, students receive intensive training in the clinical patient courses of Tooth Preservation I and Tooth Preservation II.
