About us

With over 20 years of experience in the diagnosis and scientific analysis of neoplastic and non-neoplastic lung diseases, the Reference Centre for Lung Pathology offers supra-regional support for the morphological and molecular diagnosis of thoracic diseases. We see our task as ensuring and improving histopathological and molecular-biological diagnostics in a complex disease environment:

Tasks and services

  •  Secondary diagnosis of complex thoracic diseases using
    • innovative and standardised morphological and molecular techniques
    • For the purpose of providing care at the highest level
    • taking into account the latest scientific findings
  • Establishment and continuous further development of molecular test procedures for diagnostics, prognosis and prediction
  • Regular virtual consultation hours
  • Participation in (virtual) interdisciplinary boards
  • Training programmes on thoracic diseases (virtual, ‘case of the month’)

Scientificity

In order to provide diagnostic expertise at the highest level, we have a broad international network that ranges from university hospitals to specialised care centres, specialist societies, patient representatives, research associations and industry partners. Our actions are always centred on the well-being of the patient on the basis of scientific knowledge.

Gaining knowledge and passing on information

The task of all reference pathologists is to utilise expert knowledge in a targeted manner and, in turn, to contribute it to patient care. To this end, we are available as a point of contact for everyone and share our knowledge at further education and training events for pathologists and our clinical colleagues. ⇒ https://kikoxp.com/
