Center for Clinical Studies

Clinical studies are essential for improving patient care. The department of anaesthesiology’s centre for clinical studies is committed to advance evidence-based healthcare. We lead and participate in international prospective multi-centre studies addressing patients’ needs in the perioperative and emergency setting. The Uniklinik RWTH Aachen offers a dynamic and multi-disciplinary environment that facilitates research in the broad field of anaesthesiology. Current projects involve the optimal type of anaesthesia for patients with specific diseases, tele-medical support in emergency medicine, or Phase II – IV studies in cooperation with industrial partners and national and international societies of anaesthesiology. Throughout every project, we collaborate closely with the Centre for translational & Clinical Research (CTC-A) and the Ethics Committee of the Uniklinik RWTH Aachen.
