Epileptologie

The Section of Epileptology was founded in May 2017 as a special department within the Department of Neurology in order to meet the high demand for medical care and the special professional and technical requirements of this specialist area.

In September 2019, this section was strengthened with a W3 professorship in the field of epileptology. Prof. Dr. med. Yvonne Weber followed the call of the University Hospital RWTH Aachen and holds the professorship.

The Epileptology Aachen has been an officially recognized epilepsy center of the German Society for Epileptology (DGfE) since 2024.

We advise patients on all aspects of epilepsy and related seizure disorders and offer all modern diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in close cooperation with the local Departments of Neurosurgery, Neuroradiology, Neuropathology and Nuclear medicine.
