As a tertiary and quaternary level provider of medical care, the University Hospital of RWTH Aachen combines patient-oriented medicine and care, teaching and research at an international level. Student Assistant (f/m/d)

The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date and offered for a fixed term of initially 6 months, with the possibility of extension.

The standard weekly hours will be 8 - 12 hours.

Within the framework of the excellence initiative, the Center for Computational Life Sciences (CCLS) was founded by members of RWTH Aachen University and UKA Aachen as an interfaculty center to foster multidisciplinary research in the field of computational life sciences. The CCLS integrates various subdomains of computational sciences ranging from mathematics over simulation sciences up to artificial intelligence in the context of fundamental biomedical research, applications in biotechnology, clinical research and clinical care.

Tasks

  • Learn and master the functionalities and applications of DSPy.
  • Create, refine, and optimize prompts for large language models (LLMs) to achieve desired outcomes using DSPy.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to DSPy and LLM prompting.
  • Participate in regular team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and solutions.
  • Document the processes, methodologies, and results of your work for future reference and knowledge sharing.

Profile

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Computer Science, Data Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Python programming.
  • Experience with or willingness to learn the Declarative Sequencing Python framework (DSPy).
  • Prior experience with machine learning models or data analysis projects is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Very good knowledge of English, both written and spoken

  • A valid certificate of study in Computer Science/Informatics or related degrees
  • For foreign students: valid residence certificate, work permit, registration certificate

The salary is based on the RWTH Guidelines for Student and Graduate Assistants.
