The Healthy Living Spaces lab (headed by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Marcel Schweiker) aims to develop innovative approaches to the design of living spaces and buildings, the analysis of sources of disturbance and the development and establishment of preventive measures. The working group sees itself as an inter- and transdisciplinary link between medical research and relevant research activities from engineering, natural and social sciences.

The teaching and research area Healthy Living Spaces is looking for a 

Student Assistant (f/m/d) on the topic of Adaptive Architecture

Working hours: up to 8 hours per week

Duration: initially limited until the end of the academic semester. An extension by semester is intended

Start date: as soon as possible

Compensation: the salary is based on the guidelines for student and research assistants

Project description
The European project SONATA (Situational-Aware OrchestratioN of AdapTive Architecture) aims to generate evidence-based guidance on the use of architectural adaptation as a workplace design intervention that can promote mental and physical health and wellbeing and can reduce the negative effects of environmental stressors related to the workplace environment. 

 

Your tasks

  • Review of literature on relevant topics
  • Supporting the multidisciplinary team with study development and data collection
  • Data analysis using R

Your profile

  • You are a Bachelor or Master student and are interested in: 
    • Environmental Psychology /Cognitive Psychology/Adaptive Architecture
    • Interdisciplinary, independent and problem-oriented work
    • Study development, data collection and data analysis
  • Prior experience in developing questionnaires or cognitive tasks
  • Prior experience with conducting scientific experiments, data recording and data analysis
  • Good knowledge of the English and/or German language
  • Team player
