Transportation
Aachen is a cosmopolitan town with historical flair that has a unique appeal because of its location in the border triangle with the Netherlands and Belgium. The optimal location of the town – in the West of North-Rhine Westphalia, on the edge of the Eifel and the Hohe Venn and near the cities of Cologne, Düsseldorf and Bonn – makes Aachen the perfect starting point for city trips and excursions into nature. The town itself is known, among others, for the Aachener Printen, a variety of gingerbread originating from Aachen.
Aachen is conveniently reached from several international airports (Maastricht Aachen, Cologne, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Brussels, Eindhoven, Amsterdam, and even Paris) that are connected via trains or direct shuttles.
Local public transport in Aachen is relying on bus services. We suggest to get the movA-app for schedules and tickets (if needed). You can find a transport guide for options between Aachen main station and DAS LIEBIG (main conference venue) here. Please also look here, where you can find local transport guides for each of the recommended hotels.
We are happy to announce the option to get reduced train ticket to/from Aachen here: https://www.veranstaltungsticket-bahn.de/?event=8945&language=en
