During invited lectures at the annual meetings of the Korean Orthopaedic Research Society (KORS) and the Korean Orthopaedic Association (KOA), respectively, Dr. rer. nat. Holger Jahr from the Deptartment of Anatomy and Cell Biology of the Uniklinik RWTH Aachen/ Institute of Structural Mechanics and Lightweight Design of the RWTH Aachen University entertained the audience with his vision on the future application potential of absorbable metal implants in Orthopaedic and Traumatology.
During his talks, he further referred to ongoing collaborative research between three Institutes of the RWTH (ITA, SLA and ANATZ), funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) under grant No.13XP5206 and the acronym CarBoMD. This ambitious research project aims at improving future treatment of osteochondral defects by innovative material combinations and brings together research teams from the medical faculty and technical institutes in Aachen.
