Fortbildung „Medizininformatik Up2Date“: FAIR guiding principles – state of the art in Biomedicine

Referent:
Prof Dr. Ulrich Sax, Leiter der Arbeitsgruppe „Infrastructure for Translational Research“ am Institut für Medizinische Informatik der Universitätsmedizin Göttingen. Prof. Sax ist eine national und international ausgewiesene  Persönlichkeit im Bereich Forschungsdatenmanagement. Neben seiner Tätigkeit in dem Göttinger Institut für Medizinische Informatik ist er vor allem durch seine Tätigkeit in der TMF-Technologie und Methodenplattform für die vernetzte Medizinische Forschung bekannt. In Deutschland war er einer der ersten, der sich mit dem Thema FAIR data principles und Data Provenance beschäftigt hat.

Inhalt:

The FAIR Guiding Principles for scientific data management and stewardship [Wilkinson et al 2016] have been designed by different stakeholders, such as academia and industry, to address fundamental challenges in research data management and aim at improving reusability of data. A contemporary research consortium is obliged to adhere and implement the main FAIR principles: Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability, and Reusability. This can be achieved with a controlled but flexible data management environment.

In this talk we present the state of the art using different perspectives, examples and solutions for FAIR data management in Biomedical Informatics.
