Unser wissenschaftlicher Fokus

Unsere Arbeitsgruppe beschäftigt sich mit den Grundlagen der Entstehung der Plaqueerosion. Die Plaqueerosion ist die zweithäufigste Ursache des Herzinfarktes und beruht vermutlich auf einer Schädigung der Gefäßinnenhaut. Die zugrundeliegenden Mechanismen sind jedoch weitgehend ungeklärt. Wir verfolgen einen interdisziplinären und multimodalen Ansatz und untersuchen molekulare, genetische und mechanobiologische Faktoren, um neue Erkenntnisse zur Pathophysiologie der Plaqueerosion zu gewinnen.
