The Department of Neurology -Neurological Study Center- is seeking a

Research assistant (f/m/d) for data management and monitoring

Working hours: full collectively agreed working hours (currently 38.5 hours per week). Part-time employment of at least 50% of the collectively agreed working hours (currently 19.25 hours per week) is also possible
Time limit: initially project-related and limited to 2 years with option of prolongation
Entry: as soon as possible
Remuneration: EG 13 (TV-L)

In our Neurological Study Center, we conduct numerous, mostly multicenter, but also self-initiated clinical (phases I-IV) and scientific studies with a focus on neurodegeneration and vascular neurology. In the field of neurodegeneration, we mainly focus on movement disorders and dementia. We are currently looking for a main contact person for data management and monitoring as part of a worldwide registry study on Friedreich's ataxia (UNIFAI). There is a close collaboration with the Friedreich Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA).

Your tasks

Your main task will be the data management and monitoring of the UNIFAI study in close collaboration with FARA:

  • Data quality and monitoring: management of study data, quality and validation review
  • Data management and EDC support: main contact person for data management activities within the study incl. creation of data management documents, coordination of data entry in the electronic data capture system (EDC)
  • Coordination with international partners and support for site teams in different time zones
  • Data access and reporting. Assist in the development and management of data access protocols, ensuring compliance with privacy and data sharing policies. Creation and execution of reports and dashboards
  • Documentation and compliance with regulations
  • Migration of legacy data and maintenance of code list to link historical pseudonyms to new studies
  • Management and coordination of biosamples in the biobank
  • Contact person for data exports

Your profile  

  • Completed studies in the field of neuroscience (e.g. psychology, biology, bioinformatics) or similar professions 
  • Experience as a clinical monitor and with the implementation of clinical studies according to AMG, MPG and register/observational studies desired 
  • Confident use of computers, tablets, smartphones and communication programs (Teams, Zoom etc.) and Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)  
  • Very good written and spoken English language skills ( Level C1)
  • Independent working style, ability to work in a team, reliability and good time management skills
