Post-Doc position (f/m/d) in Ion Channel Research

Working hours: Full-time (38.5 hours/week) 
Time limit: 3 years with option of prolongation and habilitation
Entry: 01.04.2025 or as soon as possible thereafter
Remuneration: EG 13 (TV-L)

The project/ tasks

Signaling via ion channel receptors is pivotal for the function of the nervous system and various neurological diseases. Our goal is to characterize acid-sensing ion channels at the molecular, cellular, and organismal levels. Currently, we focus on the characterization of auxiliary proteins. For comparison, we also characterize ion channels from different model organisms. In addition to electrophysiology, we employ state-of-the-art molecular, cellular and chemical biology techniques. You will be part of a highly motivated, friendly, multidisciplinary, international team.

  • Patch clamp of cell lines (e.g. HEK293)
  • Cell culture, transfections
  • Patch clamp of primary neurons
  • Ideally slice recordings

Your profile

  • PhD or MD degree 
  • Strong interest in ion channel research 
  • Expertise in electrophysiology (patch clamp)  
  • High motivation and excitement to work in an international team
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English (Level C1)
  • Ability to teach in German
