Post-Doc position (f/m/d) to investigate the influence of the acidic microenvironment on tumor cells

Working hours: Full-time (38.5 hours/week) 
Time limit: 3 years with option of prolongation 
Entry: 01.05.2025 or as soon as possible thereafter
Remuneration: EG 13 (TV-L)

The project

An acidic pH is a hallmark of the microenvironment of solid tumors. Our goal is to reveal the influence of the acidic microenvironment on the migration and metabolism of tumor cells, particularly of brain tumors such as glioblastoma.  To address this question, we use tumor spheroids and different in vitro methods, such as in vitro migration assays, transcriptomic analyses, and pH imaging. You will be part of a highly motivated, friendly, multidisciplinary, international team.

Your profile

  • PhD or MD degree 
  • Strong interest in tumor biology 
  • Expertise in culturing tumor spheroids and with pH imaging
  • Expertise with migration assays would be an advantage  
  • High motivation and excitement to work in an international team
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English (Level C1)
  • Ability to teach in German
